# How to claim a payment

When someone sends you money with Moov Money, you'll get a secure link, usually by text message. Here's how to claim your money.

## Steps to claim

1. **Open the link.** It will start with `https://moov.money/`. It shows who sent the money, the amount, and any note they added.
1. **Accept the payment** to continue.
1. **Verify your phone number.** We'll text you a one-time code to confirm it's you. If you've set up a passkey before, you can use that instead.
1. **Choose how to get paid:**
   - **Apple Pay** or **Google Pay**, or
   - A **US-issued Visa or Mastercard debit card**.
1. **Confirm.** The money is sent to your card or wallet, usually within minutes.

## Good to know

- The link is valid for **10 days**. If it expires, ask the sender to resend the payment.
- There are **no fees** to receive money.
- You'll need a **US-issued debit card** (or Apple Pay/Google Pay backed by one). Credit cards and non-US cards can't be used to receive money.
- The first time, you'll verify your phone number. You can set up a passkey to make future claims faster.
